Actually, since you are the Assistant Stake Clerk for Technology, you will want to know that it is really quite easy to reinstall MLS.

I carry around a flash drive with the latest version of the MLS installer. You will be able to get it from the MLS site.

When you need to reinstall, copy the MLS installer to the desktop, then double click it and run it. You will have to pick the language and then click Done when you are finished. It really is that simple. The install runs in under five minutes on even the slowest computers in our stake.

I also delete the installer from the desktop when I have finished, and make sure there is a good backup before I start.

There are two, modcr.jar and modcf.jar

Thanks so much to you all for the advice and info. I'll get a flash drive and hack my way through this. How big does the flash drive need to be? Can I put the backup on it, too, or do I need a separate one?
Thanks for the link to the wiki about installing MLS. What is a "wiki", anyway?
Reminder to Bishops and Stake Presidents: merely because someone can turn on a computer, doesn't make them a candidate for Stake Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist.

I think 1 GB is adequate. I don't think you can buy one smaller then that anyway.

It's a web page that anyone can edit. While it sounds like a open invite to chaos, it really works quite well by allowing a group of people to expand, refine and update the page. The results are frequently greater then the sum of the parts.

It is if they are the only ones who know how to turn it on. :D
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.
