Barcode Scanner Help

Hi everyone,
I am the Stake Tech Specialist and I'm having some trouble installing a barcode scanner in our computer. I want to use the scanner to read temple recommend barcodes as we activate them. The scanner is a Symbol LS2208 handheld. It has a USB connection. I've tried the quick start guide 1-2-3 steps that they indicated should be done but it is not working for us. I also tried installing the 123Scan program but it is beyond my knowledge and it looks like a customization program for the scanner. I don't know if I chose the right setting. I've tried both the HID Keyboard Emulation and the IBM hand=held usb settings. All I need it to do is scan those recommend barcodes. I installed one at work using the quick start guide and it work in a snap. Any suggestions or has anyone gone through this problem?

Is this a Church provided scanner? If so, when you recieved your barcode scanner from Church HQ there should have been some installation instructions that came with it. These instructions are specific to the Church for setting up the scanner for reading temple recommend barcodes. On the instruction sheet are some bar codes. These codes, when scanned, set up the scanner for reading temple recommends.
If you did not get the Church scanner setup instructions with the scanner, or if they are missing or lost, you can send an message to MLS support either through MLS or using the address

There is a a pdf file in MLS that you can print with the instructions on setting up and calibrating the barcsode scanner. I just did this on Thursday for the stake computer. I searched for *.pdf. I believe that title contains barcode scanner

There is a single page pdf file, barCodeSetup.en.pdf, in the same folder Alan gave that has just the scanner installation and programming instructions.

I have purchased intermec printer. I have no idea how to installed and work. I used intermec 2415, intermec 2435.

It sounds like you are asking about how to install and use either a printer or a barcode scanner for personal use. You would be better off searching outside the LDSTech forums for this help since these forums are focused on technology used in the Church. The Church does not use the intermec printer or scanners.
