Windows 10 Upgrade - MLS will launch but all user data is gone

One of the wards in our stake is experiencing a problem with MLS following the Windows 10 upgrade. MLS will launch but none of the users are able to log in. The list of users is blank; somehow all of the user data appears to be gone.

Has anyone else experienced this or know of a resolution?

Thanks!

That's been a common failure long before Win10 showed up.

Maybe MLS was open when it did the upgrade and it didn't wait for it to shut down properly?

I have a hard time getting people to exit out and log off when they're done.

That is a common bug that occurs when you leave MLS running when you receive a system update. My guess is a reinstall of MLS should take care of the issue.

You are most likely correct about MLS running during an update. In all likelihood the update rebooted (shut down) Windows with MLS running. This has the potential to cause MLS database corruption.

Reinstalling MLS will not correct this database corruption. The solution(s) available have already been suggested by russellhltn several posts earlier in this thread. The link in that thread is to the wiki article to recover lost usernames in MLS caused by improper shutdown of MLS. It is important to follow the three recommended recovery procedures in the order provided. I have found recovery Option A to work in most cases.
