Cool. How did you get the initial list of addresses? All by hand, or were you able to get a list from the Post Office or something?

It is easy to do by hand. With your first pass through the neighborhood, just get a pocket size notebook to write in. Write the neighborhood and name of the street at the top of each page. Then all you have to do is note the house number portion of the address as you approach each house. As you leave note a two-letter abbreviation as to the status of the investigator. (NI=not interested, CB=come back, etc.)

Since people often have differing schedules and aren't home when we stop by, and because some will ignore us the first couple of times but eventually soften their heart enough to be curious as to our message, we set a goal of making 5 passes through each neighborhood within the village limits of the town our chapel is in. This goal is a far stretch from fully covering the 1000 square miles our boundaries reach, but it is a good effort.

We've gone out with the young men teachers & priests a few times and I hope to continue that. Since we don't have full time missionaries here, its a good chance for them to learn about missionary work by pairing off with the branch missionaries for a while.

I'm the stake tech specialist of a stake in Georgia. We have old Works documents that would be unusable otherwise. I don't think MS Office will read the works docs that we have.

Go OpenOffice! Thanks for including it.

OT: Unofficial Cleck's list?

RussellHltn wrote:Judging from the unofficial clerks' list, it sounds like that's being done to all unit administrative computers - at least in U.S.

I'm unaware of any clerk's 'list'. Could you fill me in. You might have noticed my other post, begging for more documentation or community help.

Much thanks

LOL, our two links are nearly identical, but the .php and .html extensions make a big difference. :)

Indeed! Totally different "product".

I'm serious about the warning - a member just posted a rant today.

Open Office is awesome

I use Open Office every week specifically for spreadsheets to log attendance data and such. I use Microsoft Office at home so I find creating Word docs at home and then modifying them at the building is very nice. I have also done this vice versa as well. Please continue to provide Open Office on the Software Rollouts.
