Lenovo Tiny restarts automatically after shutdown

About a month ago, I had a unit complain that the new lenovo tiny would not boot without complaining it was not shutdown properly and being forced in to a repair process every time it was booted. Because the unit was remote, I had someone bring it in to me to look at, but I could not replicate the problem. I was out to the unit last night to fix an unrelated issue and noticed that the computer would reboot itself about 3-4 seconds after shutdown when the USB printer (HP P2015d) was connected to particular ports. (So, it appears the clerk's problem was that the computer was in the middle of restarting itself when the power switch was turned off. ) I didn't have time to test them all, but it would reboot if plugged in to the upper front USB 3.0 port and also if plugged into the bottom back USB 2.0 port (number 4). It seemed to be okay in the USB 2.0 port 3 -- but that may be because I specifically disabled the keyboard ALT+P power-up functionality that is associated with that port. I also recommended that the clerk turn off the printer before shutting down the computer. Only time will tell if USB port 3 is actually a safe port.

Has anyone else run into this problem, or does anyone have a possible solution that doesn't involve powering down the printer individually before shutting down the computer and turning off the power switch?

Thanks

See if there's a setting in the BIOS that prevents the computer from being powered up via the USB. Perhaps that ALT+P setting you talked about. I don't think it would be a major issue if that feature was disabled.
