Who has permissions to set up new computers?

I am the stake clerk and in our stake we called a couple people in the remote branches as "Stake Technology Specialists" to assist with remote computer needs. One of branches was given a new computer to install and the stake technology specialist for the area cannot access the instructions here: https://www.lds.org/help/support/new-cl ... r?lang=eng

Do stake technology specialists do not have access to this website? And if not, which callings can?

I can assure you that a STS can see that page. Because that's my actual calling. I don't have special permissions outside of this forum.

I'd check to see if your STSs are listed as STS in the stake and using a standard position. Custom positions (appears in orange print in CDOL) have no rights at all, even if the name is the same.

Okay thanks. I will see if it is a "standard position" issue.

It's technically Assistant Stake Clerk - Technology Specialist - you might also re-visit that calling, there is a new one that seems more appropriate for that particular requirement - Assistant Stake Technology Specialist.

Slight correction; it's actually "Stake Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist".

Sorry to do it twice, but that new position is called, "Assistant Technology Specialist".

I'm surprised that it didn't include the wording, working under the direction of the Stake President and with his approval, I accessed the standard calling list to correct the standard naming that you got wrong. :) But thanks for clarifying
