TEM Installation

I checked the four clerk's computers in the stake center this evening. Two of them had TEM installed automatically this morning at 11:30, and TEM appeared in the system tray.
The other two computers did not have TEM in the system tray, nor listed as services (BES or TEM). I tried manually downloading and installing TEM from mls.lds.org onto those two computers, but either the installer failed or the BES Client refuses to start (error 29?), probably because there is no TEM service installed.
I thought I would have seen some discussion on this forum about it, but I don't see anything that matches the errors I saw tonight.

I can provide a 2nd witness, all the TEM installs I've put on my computers are failing to start, I downloaded the install package from mls.lds.org

I haven't checked all the computers in my stake, but those I've checked had TEM installed automatically with no manual effort on my part, and they are working fine. And those installs happened several weeks ago.

TEM installed fine

We downloaded the TEM installer about a month ago from mls.lds.org and installed it on 8 computers we just refreshed without any issue. What's this? Something actually worked for me and not others? Unheard of!

"Updated 06 September 2012". I suspect you downloaded before the last update.

I downloaded the updated version today, but the file size seemed to be exactly the same as the previous version. The only difference seemed to be the file name!

I happened to be in fixing a printer this afternoon, I downloaded the latest file, installed it, and now my "BES client" is working! I hadn't said anything before because I was afraid it was related to my Windows 7 64 bit clerk computer rollout. :)

On 6 Sep 2012 at 5:48 PM CDT, I received the Technology Specialist Newsletter - September 2012, which instructed me to download TEM onto any admin computer missing it. I found it installed on two of four computers at the stake center. On the two that did not yet have TEM, I downloaded from mls.lds.org the June 2012 version of TEM, and it failed.
My guess is that 5 minutes after I left the stake center, they posted the 6 Sep 2012 version. This weekend is stake conference, so I will have time to play with those two computers. If the 6 Sep 2012 version doesn't work, I guess I will call someone. Local Unit Support or the Global Service Center?
Thanks,
Dana

The June 2012 version of TEM was named MLS_TEM.exe.
The 6 Sep 2012 version of TEM is named TEM_MLS.exe.
Same file size.
I just ran it on my stake clerk's computer, and it doesn't look like it worked any better than the June version did.
The system log shows that the MSI installer started, but nothing happened. I know it is a silent install, but there is no BES Client service nor TEM service.

I have the same issue. On September 7th, I downloaded the TEM installer from mls.lds.org and ran it on three clerk computers. I could see the installer running in task manager but it quite after less than a minute. Landesk did not uninstall and is still running and functional, and there is no BES service. There are a few related entries in Event Viewer but nothing indicating the exact problem. The computers are running Windows 7.
