I was wondering why there isn't a step by step guide to assist stake clerks direct ward clerk on how to do a membership audit (especially in a Stake challenged by distances of each Ward/Branch.) Even more frustrating is finding a interactive guide to use MLS.

The membership audit itself guides you through the process – although it's frustrating that you can't see an outline of the audit beforehand, it's intended to be simple enough that external instructions aren't needed. There is a basic introduction here:
