Record of Young Church Service Mission on Membership records

#1

Post by johnny2007 »

So just a quick question to my fellow clerks. I just had a Young Church Missionary that set apart and is now serving in his assignment. How long will his membership record show his young church service mission in LCR or on paper.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. I think the membership record only records young full-time proselyting missions. Since serving a mission is not a saving ordinance, I'm not completely sure why it's there. My personal guess is to prevent asking a YSA who has served a mission from being asked to serve another. There is no such restriction for service missions.

I'd think all other missions would be recorded as a calling for the duration of the mission so leaders can be aware of this calling.

Basically I was just wondering if a YSA serving a Young Church Service Mission gets recorded like a regular full-time proselyting mission.

Just a mini background on the question. The young man in question was excused from serving a full time mission thus it is why he is on a young church service mission. He just wanted to show (at least to the leadership, current and future) that he indeed served a mission, despite it being a church service mission.

I don't think so - at least not automatically. You might want to talk to support.
