Memberships received with missing or non existent address

#1

Post by toallen »

We frequently receive New Memberships with a bogus address, A couple of examples: We received one that was in the middle of the Ben Lomond High School parking lot. Another from last week said the address was 1 Ogden, Utah??? Others that have no such address on that street. How do things like that get by? There is no way in LCR to explain the circumstances. How do we get rid of Memberships that are not in our ward and never have been!

I still try to believe that most clerks and missionaries (folks who create membership records and record addressed) are trying to do their best. Sometimes mistakes are made. Most likely in these cases, someone chose your ward manually because they believed that was where they belonged. Do your best, say a prayer and go through the "unknown address" steps.

The first thing I would do is get in contact with the ward clerk where the records came from and find out why the record was sent to your ward and what other information they might have.
