Finding a member

A sister in my ward asked me if I would help her find her daughter who she and her family has lost contact with. Without the intention of actually requesting her daughter's record into our ward, I typed her name and birthdate into the 'request record' screen but it did not even find her. Is there anything else I can do to help this sister find her daughter? Her family has already tried social media and other non-church methods with no success.
