Form letter to include member record number

We would like to send a form letter to each member with instructions for setting up their LDS.ORG accounts. We would like to have the usual name, address populated into the form letter. In addition, we want the member record number. Any help in creating form letters from the MLS data base or LDS.ORG data base is appreciated. Is OK to send out record numbers? Or is there a policy against this?

Keep in mind that MRNs now give access to financial information (on-line donations). As such, I think it would be wise to be sensitive as to how they are distributed. I would not use methods that are not adequately secure.

In addition, you might want to check the local laws about "data breach". Given that a MRN could not be considered a "financial number", a poor distribution plan could be considered a "data breach" and trigger mandatory reporting.
