sent to "unknown address" location but returns back to unit
Hello, I hope someone can help with this. Our clerks will go thru the 8 step process and returns the records to SLC as "address unknown". After any where from 3 months to a year, many of the records are returned to the unit again. Is this normal? Should there be information attached on why it was been returned? Or is this the step that after SLC has reviewed they send it to last known unit? The clerks say they have completed the process completely and are confused on why it returns. Thanks. Greg

You might want to read the letter dated October 1, 2013.

There are three letters in the Official Communication Library (letters.lds.org) on this subject:

On November 1, 2013, up to 20 additional membership records previously moved from your unit into the address unknown file will be returned for further research, and each quarter thereafter until all such records have been reviewed.

I see drepouille has given direct links, but all letters are found in the Official Communication Library, letters.lds.org. These should be considered as a supplement to the Handbook.seljega wrote:Where is that letter found please?
