Creating membership record for a child
What is the best way to create a record for a child who is blessed in a ward other than the ward in which his parents reside and have their membership records: 1) give to the parents' ward clerk the Request for Blessing form that the bishop from the other ward completed or 2) create a record from within the ward where the blessing occurred, changing the ward and stake numbers and names, or 3) another method?

Re: Creating membership record for a child
Generally the ward where the blessing occurred should take the Child Blessing Record (which is filled out and signed by the parents, not the bishop) and record the blessing. While recording the blessing (using Membership > Ordinances > Record Child Blessing), the clerk should enter the unit number and name of the unit where the child resides during that process. The clerk prints the blessing certificate and the bishop (in the ward where the blessing occurred) signs it and gives it to the parents. The record will be created and automatically transferred to the ward where the child resides.lbjorkman wrote:What is the best way to create a record for a child who is blessed in a ward other than the ward in which his parents reside and have their membership records: 1) give to the parents' ward clerk the Request for Blessing form that the bishop from the other ward completed or 2) create a record from within the ward where the blessing occurred, changing the ward and stake numbers and names, or 3) another method?
