Recent Convert - Questionable History

We have a recent convert in our Ward for whom the Bishop has recently started to question some of her history. Is there a way that we could research an individual, prior spouse, etc., to determine if the individual was baptized prior? It's obvious, things have occurred that are causing the Bishop to have these questions, but I'm wanting to know if there are resources we can contact that could help clear up questions we might have.

I would call Church Headquarters on this one. They can do some of the research for you.

If the name and date of birth were correct on the baptism and confirmation record, I believe CHQ will already have checked for a previous membership record. But, as DJC has said, they will have to be the ones who actually do any further checking.

I would have the bishop call CHQ, since they will usually tell you to have the bishop call them himself.

You can do the initial call, but all you'll get is if there is an issue or not. The Bishop would have to call to get the details.

But at least your call could save the Bishop some time and get the information gathered together so he can get to the correct division/office/whatever to deal with the issue. It does help a busy Bishop.
