The Ward Clerk of the YSA Ward contacted me about a divorced brother attending their ward. MLS has him as married and he was needing the status removed. His sealing has not been canceled. How does he remove the status of "Married" off of MLS?

In MLS, go to the Individual Record for this brother (Membership > Individual Record, select the member). Go to the Current Spouse tab for that membership record. Then in the right-hand panel you'll see a "Terminate Marriage" link. Click that link and supply the information (the termination date and reason).

Note that the divorce must be finalized before that can be done. Any questions on that, consult Handbook 1.

And to come full circle, since this was mentioned in the original post, sealing status is not an issue in this case. If the divorce is final, the appropriate entries to terminate the marriage can be made in MLS without regard to sealing status.

He's legally divorced and not actively dating. However, his record still says 'Married'.

When you update his record in MLS with the divorce information, his status will change.
