In units that I have been involved with in the last few years, checks that combine funds are politely returned with a request that two seperate checks be written. Cash donations are handed to the (adult) FOS rep who then hands them to the stake person (usually a HC member). He delivers checks and cash to the BSA council.

Does the church have a stance on whether it is appropriate to personally solicit 'a specific amount' from individual church members for the annual Friends of Scouting funding drive? Example: high councilor contacts a member and says in essence We would like to ask your family to donate $1000 this year. This seemed far above a reasonable donation for one family.
