Alternatives to balancing categories

#1

Post by sgoodrich »

I am having difficulty understanding exactly how to fix the issues created by the transition to CUBS.

I have come up with two alternatives and would like to have some input on each.

1. Using a stand alone pc with an October 17th MLS file, run budget reports and transfer various amounts of money to balance categories.

2. Go through each individual transaction for the entire year and change the category from where it is now to where it should be.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

This is a good topic, which has had some helpful discussion already. Your post is amazingly similar to the post that began the thread: Recreating Pre-CUBS Budget Detail. The same topic was also discussed in CUBS conversion - budget in quite a bit of detail.

If you review those two threads, I think you'll get some good input on the pros and cons of the two approaches.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.
