I know that the audit forms can't cover every question. But one omission on the new forms has me puzzled, since it has been a common exception (at least in my experience) in the past. Specifically, on the old audit form, question #3 asked auditors to make sure:

Only the bishop and his counselors accept donation envelopes (except fast offerings collected by Aaronic Priesthood holders).

Yet on the new forms, there is no question that verifies this basic procedure. I've read through the form multiple times, and unless I'm suffering from selective blindness, it's just not there. Is that because the policy has changed, or it's just not a problem, or other issues are more important to cover on the audit?

You're right, it is no longer there. However, the reason for its disappearance may only be known by headquarters. You could always send and MLS message to ask why.
