Having a member refund and overpayment
We had a member receive an overpayment for an expense, and the stake auditor recommended that the member write a check to the unit for the amount of overpayment. How should this check be processed? Can it be directly deposited back into the budget category from which it was originally paid? Are there other options to deal with this audit exception?

Yes, deposit it back into the budget category where it came from. This is one of the few exceptions to the rule that donations can't be made to budget since it isn't really a donation (although it's otherwise processed like one).

It won't show up in the member's year-end tax statement. Which is correct.eblood66 wrote:since it isn't really a donation (although it's otherwise processed like one).
