Is there a way to financially support a missionary in another ward by paying online? In Canada.

There are two requirements.

1. You need to live in a ward that is able to use the online Donation system. Almost always this means the U.S. (there are exceptions).

2. The missionary needs to be serving from a ward in the U.S. He may actually be serving anywhere in the world, but the ward that is handling the ward missionary fund and payments must be in the U.S.

If these two requirements are met, then yes, you may contribute directly to his/her ward missionary fund using the online Donation system. You will need to know the unit number of the ward handling the missionary fund. One of the easiest ways to get that number is from your ward clerk.

I'll suggest there's a third requirement - you have to be drawing on funds in a US bank. Those who are outside the US and have access are using US accounts.

I have a question: I am in the Military and I left my ward in Oklahoma and I am paying for my son's mission through online payments. I have arrived to Germany and the branch here is not included in the online donation program. If I have my records transferred here then I will not be able to make the online payments for my son's mission. I have the ward's ID number, but I had a local member here check to see if he could make online donations to another Ward and the website will not allow him to make the donations, so I would be having this same issue if my records are transferred here. Why cannot the church include a military exemption for service members serving outside the United States to be able to use the online donation service. My bank account is a US Bank, so all transactions are US transactions. Either I do not allow my branch to request my records and continue paying for my son's mission or allow them to the request my records and stop paying for my son's mission. I think the church could make the necessary changes to the online donations system to accomandate Overseas members so they can make donations using a US banking institution.

My niece is serving in Scotland-Ireland from her ward in Denmark. I am in California and have committed to support her, but have attempted to pay on line but that option is apparently not available. What do I need to do?

Currently, the donation system is US only. I'd suggest to talk to your bishop and see if the financial responsibility for the mission can be transferred to your ward. The only other solution I can think of is to mail the money to the ward that is supporting her. Given that it's a different currency, that's going to be a hassle.
