Hi,

We have received monthly donations to a missionary whose family has now moved, thus the missionary records have moved. They are from a member of our ward so they aren't donated directly to the missionaries ward (in order to appear of this members tax record from our ward). Is the best method just to keep sending checks to the new ward or is there an alternative.

You need to confirm that the missionary finances have moved. They are not linked - so, to move the financial responsibility takes requires a extra step. So it may have been done, but most likely not.

The checks will need to go to the ward that has financial responsibility. They will also be responsible for the tax statement for what was donated to their ward.

One of the options is to discuss the situation with the other ward and transfer back/keep the financial responsibility.

And if the donor is in the United States, he or she can donate directly to the ward funding the missionary through Online Donations.
