Non UK Gift Aid Donation

Does anyone have experience with how a ward in the USA would be notified or receive funds allocated from a UK Gift Aid donation?
A friend in the UK donates money to several missionaries, usually in the UK. He has agreed to help support a missionary currently living in the USA. He provided the same information for this donation as he does for the UK donations - the missionaries Membership Record Number, Stake Unit Number & Ward Unit Number. I've seen the church receipt for the funds, dated 4th June 2015, from the European Admin office in Hamburg so I know the church has the funds, yet the Bishop in the USA has seen no sign of this transfer of funds.
Any thoughts on where to follow up/navigate are appreciated!
