If anybody finds it useful, here is a copy of the word document I use to print out labels for the folders I use throughout the year. These print out on Avery 5160 stock and prints out enough to be used for two years (2015 and 2016). For the convenience for my replacement the destruction date (current year + 3) is included on the label so they can easily see when the records are to be destroyed.
For that matter, after the Jul-Dec audit has been completed I bundle up all of the records for the year and tie them together with string and stash them in one of the file cabinet drawers along with a note indicating when they are to be destroyed. After 1 January of the appropriate year I just grab the bundle and into the fire it goes.
