PSA - folding Donor Statements of Contributions

Several "Donor Statement of Contributions" were just sent to our ward. These reports summarize the donations made by that member in wards previously attended this year and contain the mamber's MRN, current address, and a list of units that received donations prior to having their records moved to our unit.

For ease of preparing for distribution while maintaining confidentiality (especially if you have lots of them) it helps to be able to fold the letters so that the member's name shows up through one of the envelope windows in the stock that comes from church distribution.

There is a solid grey spacer bar just above the first ward that shows up on the list. Fold the bottom edge of the letter up so it is flush with the top of the grey spacer bar.

Flip the paper over and fold the top of the sheet backwards until it meets the fold made in step one.

The member's name and address will now perfectly display through a window.

Note that if you intend to actually mail this statement for some reason you will probably need to manually address a non-windowed envelope. It would be better if the letter was re-formatted so the MRN did not appear appended to the member's name, but perhaps that will be corrected in a future release.

We are a brand new ward and we received 160 entries in our Donor Statements of Contribution report. Is there a way to sort these? There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order of these statements.

Nothing that is practical for a one-time task such as this.

Print them out and sort them alphabetically using a hand sorting machine.:)

We use the clerk/assistant clerk method of manual manipulation.

We sometimes refer to those kinds of things as the "Armstrong" method.
