The policy document which spells out the directions for processing tithing settlement have a step-by-step guide on how to print the report for the Stake President. The instructions do not include masking the amounts prior to sending the report.

The only other item I recall at the stake that is asked is every 2 years when a GA presides at Stake Conference the High Council tithing status is reviewed. That does not require knowing the amounts either.

This wasn't meant to take a stand on one side or the other, just a couple of places I know the stake is referenced in relation to the subject.
