Missing finance data

I got in today and the system only shows finance records from last week (checks written/donations made). All previous checks/donation batches are "gone." Yet the backup file is similar in size to other backups (these backup files grow with time). The clerk that was here last week didn't notice anything wrong.

When I try to write checks today I'm forced to answer a dialog box asking about missing donations for every week (except Dec 23rd) going back to January. I don't want to do any restores etc until we figure out what's going on.

Anybody have any ideas?

Call Local Unit Support on Monday. They can fix you up.

So I cam in this morning to call LUS and work on this. Logged on to MLS while waiting on hold and everything is fine with MLS.

Very very strange.

Is it possible you got a financial update file yesterday and needed to restart MLS to activate it? Did LUS provide any indication of what might have caused the problem?

I restarted MLS multiple times, multiple send/receives and even rebooted Windows. Nothing worked yesterday. Even then, why would a finance file update show everything from the 23rd forward but nothing prior?

This is one of the unexplained mysteries of the universe. Tech Support basically said the same thing. It's pretty disruptive when you can't process donations or checks on Sundays. Not earth shattering, but it would have been nice if MLS had some sort of message on what was going on.

I had a similar situation last Sunday, an urgent task message said that multiple weeks were missing. The dates went back through March or April of 2012, practically all of the previous year's donations were missing, and all of this years donations are missing too.

How do I contact the LUC to fix this situation and other missing data?
