Direct Contributions

A member would like to send their church contributions, such as tithing and fast offereings, directly to the church. Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this simply a matter of contacting the church directly or is there more to it? Where do I find more information on this?

THIS page from lds.org, the Church provides information on donating stock and other securities. There is also contact information there and my experience is I've found them to be helpful and knowledgeable in these sorts of things.
