Outstanding Checks - more than 2 years old

A quick question:

Does anyone know how to clear up checks that are older than 2 years old and are still outstanding. I'm unable to void them (and some I can't even see, they go all the way back to 2005!) and they keep coming up on my Action Item list.

Thanks,
Brian

I think you need to contact Local Unit Support. Certainly, you can't go wrong by doing it that way. You might also read the Outstanding checks entry in the wiki. I couldn't see the answer for a check that old, but perhaps the answer based on the situation still applies.

If you are in the United States, the provisions of the August 2011 letter Outstanding Checks and the Escheatment Process should apply. But according to that letter, those checks older than 180 days should already have been automatically escheated. Since that has apparently not happened, contacting Local Unit Support seems to be your best option.

I noticed that at the bottom of the https://tech.lds.org/forum/ page, there is a calendar item that repeats every APRIL 15th.

  1. April 15th, 2012: Quarterly Report, Outstanding Checks - Annual Report and Stake Summary
I believe the "Outstanding Checks" item can be removed from the calendar because of the new Escheatment Process

Good catch! I have removed that event from the LDSTech calendar. Thanks for letting us know.
