Deceased Member List?

I am looking to see if there is a way to create a list of members that passed away during a specific year, like 2009. I played with custom reports but was unable to figure it out.

I can't think of how this could be done in MLS, because once a death has been recorded the record disappears.

That has been my finding as well, unfortunely. I was trying to tie to the spouses record of the deceased, but that would only account to those that still had a living spouse within our ward boundries. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
