That is exactly what I do but I still do not see anything like what I was seeing when getting to reports through MLS when the counselor logged on.

As HPGL, you will not see the same things that a Bishopric counselor sees. However, you should be able to see the HT reports and districts.

Also, bear in mind that MLS may allow access to information that LCR does not. LCR is designed to apply information restrictions based on the handbook, whereas MLS relies on an administrator (usually the bishop or ward clerk) to set access correctly.

Pester the clerk about that one. Even if they haven't called a replacement, they should still release you.

MLS shouldn't have much information about home teaching. When we made the transition from MLS to LCR, we made a decision not to transfer home teaching data from LCR back to MLS, so anything updated online won't be available in the MLS database. I thought we also disabled the home teaching functionality in MLS if MLS saw the flag that the unit was using LCR for home teaching, but it has been a couple of years since I was in that code, so I don't remember for sure. Looking at your ward's data, I'm wondering whether maybe it isn't properly disabled and someone has been using MLS all of this time.

I just verified that you should be able to get into the online home teaching application if you have selected the proper role. Without knowing what you were seeing, I'm not sure what you're missing, but I do know that the system appears to be working correctly as long as you have selected the correct role.

Reason: Oops. This should be "MLS shouldn't ..."

I'm wondering what to do next besides getting the clerk or Bishop to remove the ward mission leader calling.

I think people have been using MLS for reporting. Any suggestions on what to do to get what needs to be disabled so we can use LCR?

Confusingly, LCR has "mls" in the URL, but I don't know as they use that term.

As indicated above, I'm pretty sure that HT/VT in MLS is disabled - or at least limited to historical reports. If it's not, then that's the problem. The clerk needs to get with support to get that fixed. I think only certain units that have very poor internet access (think 3rd world) still use MLS for HT/VT. I can't imagine a unit in Utah still using it.

I'm in a rather interesting downtown ward with lots of old fashioned and interesting people so it's an adventure/frustration to figure out what is going on and find someone who knows what's going on. :-)

Thanks for your help. I will check with the bishop and see what we can do to get with tech support.

The starting point would be the ward clerk. If he can't do it, then he'd go to the stake clerk or Stake Technology Specialist or perhaps call support.

We're still struggling with the fact that we don't know what the counselor showed you and what it is that you're missing.

Have you followed the steps below? What happens when you follow them?
I'm pretty certain that everything is configured correctly. Here is my rationale for why I believe that to be the case.
  • You said that "I was at the ward meeting house where one of the counselors in the bishopric helped me get on MLS and when we clicked on a report we were taken to LCR online," so it appears that HT/VT has been properly disabled in MLS.
  • I looked at my records for when we converted HT/VT data from MLS to LCR. We migrated your stake on June 10, 2015. The entire stake was migrated using a semi-automated process along with 633 other stakes. If we had broken something during that conversion, I would think at least one of the 634 stakes converted that day would have said something.
  • When I check your ward's data, I can see some home teaching data, although it is much sparser than I would expect. Even so, someone recorded home teaching visits for the high priests group in September 2017.
  • Your ward's Relief Society has been recording visiting teaching data successfully . They have about three dozen companionships defined and visits recorded every month back to November 2016.
