WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH A LOCAL NEWS REPORTER WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN DOING A STORY ABOUT OUR LOCAL CHURCH YOUTH INVOLVED IN GENEALOGY INDEXING PROJECTS. IS THERE A PARENTAL/GAURDIAN CONSENT FORM TO GIVE PERMISSION FOR PUBLICATION OF PHOTOS OR YOUTH NAMES, ETC. IN THE LOCAL PAPER (EITHER PRINT OR ONLINE VERSION)? ALL I CAN FIND IS THE CONSENT FORM FOR ALLOWING EMERGENCY HEALTH CARE FOR YOUTH INVOLVED IN CHURCH ACTIVITIES.

Since it will be a local news outlet, I think they'd have the needed forms. The only forms/permission I'm aware if is when the church does the publishing on it's web pages, social media, or church history. But it wouldn't hurt to let the parents know what's happening.

When publishing a kids picture to the directory do we need written permission or is verbal sufficient. If written permission is required is there a form that we should use or is an email all that we need.

The help center says about the directory: "All individuals in the photo have given their consent to its posting. If an individual is a minor, the minor's parent or legal guardian must grant consent."

For the LDS.org Directory / LDS Tools, verbal consent from the parent/guardian is sufficient.
