members not showing up on HT reporting lists

I'm in a YSA Elders Quorum presidency and we have several ward members who do not show up on some of the HT reporting lists in the Leader and Clerk Resources. For example, there are people who are currently not assigned hometeachers, but they don't show up on the "Households not assigned to be home taught" list. These same people also do not show up under the "Households" tab. However, some of these people do show up on the "Unassigned Potential Home teachers" list.

We can see these people on the member list just fine though.

Any ideas what's going on?

Only Heads of Household will show on the "Households not assigned" list. Is EACH PERSON their own Head of House?
If roommates are grouped into a single household, then that could explain your problem.
If that is not the problem, then try a "Unit Data Refresh" see: https://tech.lds.org/wiki/Unit_data_refresh

Single sisters without HTs are automatically assigned to the high priests group for home teaching. That's why they are missing. It is a know problem.

The lists you can access are for those assigned to the elders quorum. You will need to have your ward clerk print off his version which will include the high priest group as well.

Aaronic priesthood holders and unordained members also go to the high priest group's "not assigned" list instead of the elders quorum's.
You can still add them via one of the screens, but I don't remember which one. Companionships?

I think you're right. Wasn't adding in the member record another option?

Single sisters and prospective elders will only show on the High Priest Group unassigned list. While the single sisters and prospective elders will not show on the EQ unassigned list (found by clicking on the drop-down arrow) they can be added by typing in the desired name or changing the unassigned list from Elders to High Priests or All.

Thanks for all your help - that makes sense. Hopefully there is something in the works to change this functionality for YSA wards in the future.

We just discovered this in our YSA ward. This seems a gross oversight as we have a number of YSA sisters who have not been assigned home teachers for a very long time because they were assigned to the HP group. As a YSA ward, we obviously do not have a HP group. Is there a way to fix this? This is an example of a long list of features I've encountered over the years that are aimed at family units and are not beneficial or even a hindrance to the operation of a YSA or SA unit.

This is a matter that is under review by those priesthood leaders who provide direction to the developers.

But as you can see by posts earlier in this topic, there is no reason to have unassigned sisters if you are working in council with your clerk. He can provide the list and your elders quorum can readily make the home teaching assignments as approved by the bishop or branch president.
