line 24 of the report has the number of converts over 12 with appropriate priesthood.

In quarter 1 it included all those who had been ordained a priest or Elder if they are over 18, in the second qtr it ignored the priests over 18 years of age.

Is this a change in policy? a correction? or just a local problem I have?

Any thoughts?

I was wondering about this as well. We have a recent male convert who is over age 18. He is ordained a priest. However our number for this line shows a 0. Is this because the system considers the "appropriate office" for that age an Elder?

How recent? If under a year, I'd think Priest would be appropriate.

He was baptized less than four months ago.

Note however, there is no justification for assuming that a year would be the cutoff for a determination of the appropriate office according to Handbook 1, 16.7.1.

However, this still doesn't answer the question of why our quarterly report doesn't consider our recently baptized brother as "ordained to [the] appropriate priesthood office". If an adult convert has been ordained a priest, the report should count that brother since it is the bishop's decision as to what that brother's appropriate priesthood office should be at that moment in time.

I received the following from church offices today:

"Those that should be included in this category are male converts age 12 and older who have been confirmed within the past 12 months. For example a male convert who was at least 12 years of age on 30 June 2014 and was confirmed on 1 July 2013 or later should be included in the Line 24 Potential column for the 2014 second quarter Quarterly Report. Those included in the Potential column that have been ordained to the appropriate priesthood would be included in the Actual column.

we noticed that there are some mistakes related to line 24 for the first and second quarter. We have sent all of the information to the programmers who are currently analyzing and fixing this system problem. It might take a couple days to have a successful result."

It would appear there is a problem that will be fixed.

The rule is that a convert age 18+ who is ordained a priest should be counted as having appropriate priesthood office. We have identified an issue with the calculation on the 2014 Q2 report and will be processing updates on the headquarters side to correct data that was incorrectly calculated.

Please remember that issues like this should be reported through the service center. Thank you, simonawright, for reporting this to the service center so that it got started through the proper channels. We have been able to resolve a couple of issues more quickly in the past few days because of information gathered while trolling the forums, but issues need to be reported through the service center.

I'm not getting after anyone -- just making sure that we don't start to slip into the wrong process.

We have completed the process of updating information for units affected by this issue. If you are using Leader and Clerk Resources, the updated values are visible now.

The process of generating update files for MLS will take several hours to complete. The updated values will be reflected in MLS after those updates are generated and then processed by a send/receive. You may not see the updated values in MLS until after a send/receive tomorrow.
