We have a young couple in the ward who was recently married. This was a civil wedding. She had been married in the temple previously and her record still shows her being married to that other man. If I try to record a civil marriage I get the error:
"The spouse is currently married to another person. You must terminate that marriage before recording this marriage."

Can you explain to me how I do this?

I ran into exactly the same problem last week! Unfortunately, I haven't figured out the answer, so I am keen to find out the proper protocol.
