Wrong Cleck Amount
I have issued a check, which has been cashed. In the incorrect amount is $0.49 the amount of the Sales tax. What is the best remedy for this error.

Re: Wrong Cleck Amount
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. It would take quite a bit of work for the clerk and the payee, and that's pointless for less than a dollar.agr8zebra wrote:I have issued a check, which has been cashed. But the error might have been $49.00, in which case I would worry about it, and it would then be a more relevant question. If the problem is simply a mistake in categorization, you can correct that error, regardless of whether the check has been cashed or not. If you underpaid someone, then you would issue a check for the difference. If you overpaid someone, then you would request that they write a check back to the unit for the overpayment.
