We wonder why the missionary recommendation system is down so much on Tuesday evenings. That is the day we do most of our missionary interviews and would like to be able to submit the recommendations immediately following the interviews. Additionally, the stake president likes to be able to review the forms online during the interview and having the system down makes that difficult.
Could a different time be found for maintenance when the system demand is not so high?

Note that the standard message that is displayed when a Church site is having problems states that it is "down for maintenance." So it may well be (I would think it highly likely) that what you are seeing is not regularly scheduled maintenance, but rather incidents where the servers are down for whatever reason (perhaps because they can't keep up with the demand).
