It appears that the font the Church uses is mostly consistent for the main text of articles. One feature of that font is that the lower-case U, V, W, I, Y, and T are all shorter than the other lower-case letters. On some pages, though, that difference is much more pronounced, and it becomes very distracting when reading. I've noticed that this is especially true on the Study Guide pages, such as the one pasted below. While true for other pages, too, it's not so prominent or distracting on the rest of the Church's sites. (See, for instance, the Church Newsroom link below.)
While I like that the Church uses a different font for its articles, it would be nice if they'd pick something a little less distracting.

Re: Font on Church website
I am still trying to recover from the mix of serif and sans serif fonts. I was taught it was a mortal sin to mix the two, and when the Church started doing it, my head fell off. But in searching the net, I have discovered that it is now a common and acceptable thing.
Then again, I am firmly in the two spaces after the end of sentence period, which this forum software does not even allow. It drives me batty that I cannot do it here, and my children think I am crazy because I do it elsewhere.
Perhaps I am getting old.

While I never use two consecutive spaces, I strongly support the use of the Oxford Comma.

Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing on your screen? I'm not noticing the problem when I go to the articles. I wonder if it's more pronounced on low-resolution screens?wentworthc wrote:It appears that the font the Church uses is mostly consistent for the main text of articles.
