We are in the process of creating and designing a global portal for Church employees, service missionaries, Area Authorities, and General Authorities to collaborate, share content, and further our efficiency and productivity across languages, countries, and cultures. In addition we are designing technologies to provide Church resources and tools to Meeting Houses world-wide to help stake presidents, local leaders and stake technology specialists fulfill their responsibilities in making the gospel more accessible to members.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead interaction design and user interface processes. The successful candidate will create an overall interaction design strategy for the assigned portfolio. Candidate will work closely with portfolio leadership in creating overall business strategies. Candidate must be able to lead portfolio in meeting overall interaction design objectives.
Responsibilities
• Develop an interaction design strategy that coincides with overall business and portfolio strategy
• Be aware of latest technology, and implement and uphold best interaction design practices
• As a member of the portfolio leadership team, produce user satisfaction metrics for solutions
• Interpret technology advances and solutions to customers in a manner that helps customers see the vision for technology in their organization
• Develop and share best practices
• Collaborate with solutions managers to maintain alignment across the portfolio and division for interaction design
• Recruit, retain, develop some of the best user interface designers in the industry
• Create role clarity, set clear expectations and achieve results
• Balance customer initiatives with Department and Division goals for the greater good
• Ability to Influence: Motivate others or shape opinions with or without direct control or supervisory responsibility
• Communicate vision to solution teams in terms that are easily understood
• Review progress on solutions, goals, milestones, metrics and project plans on a regular basis with solution team and manager
• Consistently review solution issues in interaction design and facilitate feedback and course correction as needed
• Facilitate open discussions and collaborative decision-making
Qualifications
• Must have 5-8 years experience within a technology organization. Must be skilled at establishing direction and have the ability to translate direction into actionable steps.
• Extensive knowledge of interaction design methodology with 10 years experience. Project management experience a plus.
• Must have excellent documentation skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills with users and stakeholders
• Experience in front end prototyping using HTML, CSS, Flash
• Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Must have experience building and maintaining productive working relationships.
Position-Specific Preferred Qualifications:
• Must have broad and deep experience designing user interfaces for both custom developed applications and purchased-off-the-shelf applications.
• Preferred to have experience in dealing with centralized international deployments of enterprise IT solutions involving varying countries, cultures, and languages.
• Preferred to have experience managing by influence rather than by position or by mandate.
Worthiness Qualification
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently temple worthy.
