I don't know the details of the content being delivered, but chances are that the development team is responsible for many varieties of content and media, which could include video, text, and images. The job description says:
If you are interested in that kind of position, I would advise you to apply. Once you have made the online application, you will be in the Church's employment system. At that point, you can get more details and it's then easy to apply for additional jobs as they become available in the future.Work has begun to create an advanced next generation content creation and delivery pipeline. We are looking for a very strong Software engineer to participate in the infrastructural development of this pipeline which emphasizes easy creation and delivery of content of the Church to the various delivery channels.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

The content and media portfolio here at the church develops the tools that content contributors use to manage the content in church applications and websites. They do not create the content itself.
I'm not in that portfolio, so I can't comment too much, but the tools they develop include the tools used to create, convert, maintain, and publish content on LDS.Org and other related websites. They work closely with members of the Member/Leader portfolio (where I do work) who develop the websites and applications that make up LDS.Org.
