Conference attendees learned about new and updated FamilySearch Application Program Interface from FamilySearch engineers, and best practices from current community developers. Conference sessions were divided into three tracks: FamilySearch API, Third Party Libraries, and Emerging Models and Technology. The “Emerging” track included presentations about the new Catalog API, Timeline API, Rich Client Frameworks, Persistent Identifiers, and a new model for online citations.
The three LDSTech Wiki projects were also presented to the FamilySearch third party developers. Of special interest to the group was the Church Historical Timeline Application, currently in development. The proposed features of the application include global timelines, private timelines, timeline categories, private comments and annotations, links to external references, and community moderation. To contribute to any of the LDSTech Wiki projects, fill out and agree to an Individual Contributors License Agreement and have an LDS Account.
