Don't want full name (middle name) showing up on calendering, directory, emails, etc

When I create a calendar event on the LDS.org calendar it lists my full name (middle name included) as the creator. When I send an email out for the event, same issue. The directory on LDS.org also shows my full name, with middle name included.

I called HQ and asked how to correct this, and was told to edit my profile to remove my middle name in https://ldsaccount.lds.org which I did.
When I login, the welcome banner states just my first name and last but my middle name is still tied to calender events, emails, directory, etc.

How can I fix this? Can this be corrected by working with the clerk and manually changing it in MLS? I noticed our ward directory on LDS.org shows about 50% people with middle names showing and 50% without them showing, so there has got to be a way. I have no problem with the middle name showing up in my official record, just not in all of my day to day communications using LDS.org website.

Can someone at HQ manually correct this? If so, I have my membership record # ready and want it fixed! Whom do I contact???

You may want to verify that your "Preferred Name" in MLS is correct. Between that and your LDS Account settings, that's all that can be done. By policy the membership record itself should be your full legal name.

It might take some time for the changes to propagate to all areas. I'd give it 48 hours. Even then, I'm not sure as it would fix "old" events on the calendar.

Beyond that, I'd suggest submitting feedback from the main lds.org page.

I'm not sure about the calendar but the Directory should be showing the Preferred Name from MLS. If it's showing your full name then I'd ask you ward clerk or membership clerk to edit your preferred name in MLS to remove your middle name. After that shows up in the Directory correctly I'd see if there is still a problem in the calendar.

I'm a Ward Clerk and I know that my record has the correct Preferred Name i.e. no middle name, but still shows up in the Directory with my full name.

This thread has given me an idea, perhaps if I remove my Preferred Name completely. Do a send/receive. Re-enter the details and resend that, that might sort the problem. As with other entries that are sometimes showing up incorrectly, online. Removing and re-entering the faulty information sometimes sorts the problem.

I'm at the Chapel tomorrow evening and will give it a go!
