Pausing Photo Display

Yesterday I switched the home page of our family's computer to http://new.lds.org. Shortly after that switch my wife said that she didn't like it and went on to say that when she started to read the text next to a picture being displayed (top of screen) that the picture would change on her before she finished.
So after a little experimentation I have discovered that if you click the mouse on the picture itself or the area to the right of the picture that the display of the photos will pause.
After the photos are paused you can click on either of the direction arrows ">" or "<" on the right or left side of the screen to move through the photos. Furthermore clicking on any area below and outside of the photos frame will cause the photo display to resume its automatic sequence.
This "pause" feature will work with IE8, FF, or Chrome.
