ASL General Conference music

I was able to attend one of the General Conference sessions at the Conference Center, and I saw that there was a screen set up where members could watch a live interpretation of the session in American Sign Language. The ASL interpretation included not only the talks, but also the hymns that were sung.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find the recordings in ASL of the hymns from this General Conference, or even previous conferences – I'm not having any luck finding them on LDS.org.

I did find some ASL recordings of hymns from past conferences on the MormonMessagesINTL channel, but they're not posted consistently. And YouTube doesn't provide videos for download.

Did you try and pull up General Conference in ASL?

Yes, here's the page for this conference:
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/ ... &clang=ase
and last conference:
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/ ... &clang=ase

"Watch" doesn't work for me, and the only download options (video or MP3) for the music are in English without ASL (after clicking the Show Music toggle).

I can download a full session in ASL, or watch it on YouTube, but the individual songs aren't split out.

My son is hearing impaired and he doesn't enjoy the General Conference as he cannot understand the messages. He is 13 years old. He comes with us but he just sit and is impatient during the sessions. Sometimes he sleeps. Wishing that there would be a set up screen for sign language so my son would enjoy every session. Can you please help us? Thank you very much.

How are you watching it? If you're using lds.org or gc.lds.org, go to the upper right and change your language to ASL.

The easiest solution (if it is sufficient) is to set up another television in the chapel with closed captioning, although you can also put captions on the main projector screen. We put a large television in the chapel off-center when closed captions are requested.

Receiving actual ASL usually requires another receiver in the satellite rack, which can happen with priesthood support. You can stream ASL, but the delay of a minute of so from the actual satellite broadcast in the same room could be confusing. It would normally be better to put that feed in another location in the meetinghouse.

And, of course, you could do ASL at home.

Let your leaders know of your desire. Your ward and stake technology specialists may enjoy the challenge.
