Forced mobile site

Post by curtisross »

Is there currently a way to force the lds.org site to the mobile version using the URL? It is not detecting my browser window as small enough or something to be mobile.

LDS.org uses responsive web design to adapt the display rendering between desktop, or large screen, displays and mobile, or small screen displays. Responsive web design uses the same set of URLs, with each URL serving the same HTML to all devices and using just CSS to change how the page is rendered on the device.

The most obvious telltale for the mobile rendered page for LDS.org is the header. On a small screen mobile device the header menu is the three horizontal bars icon on the left of the page rather than the four text links displayed for a desktop or large screen display. Next to the header menu icon is the shadow bust icon for the "Sign-in/Tools" menu rather than the text menu name.

If you do not see these two icons but rather the text based links for the header menu items and the "Sign-in/Tools" menu then LDS.org is being rendered for a large screen display. There is nothing you can do to force the page to render for small screen display.

In viewing the source code for LDS.org the pixel changeover appears to be 320px.
