e-mail Management

The info I'm looking for has probably already been posted, but I was not able to locate it.
From what I've been able to ascertain, there are potentially seven e-mail addresses that can be associated with a given member.
From one's LDS account:
1. Primary e-mail
2. Alternate e-mail
3. Ward Directory e-mail
In lds.org directory:
4. Household e-mail
5. Individual e-mail
In MLS:
6. Household e-mail
7. Individual e-mail
Will someone explain to me the relationships between each of the e-mail addresses and which are synced between lds.org and MLS, etc? I assumed that #'s 4 and 5 are the same as #'s 6 and 7 and could be edited in both lds.org and MLS and synced both directions between the two. But that doesn't appear to be the case, as I found that one sister's Indiv e-mail in MLS (#7) doesn't show in the lds.org directory (#5) (it's blank).
By the way, this all came about when I was investigating why some members weren't receiving a calendar event e-mail reminders. I think I discovered that those reminders go to one's indiv e-mail (#5), but can someone confirm that?
Thanks.
