PM seems to be stuck in Outbox

I have tried sending a PM to another forum member a couple of times, once this past Friday the 27th and again today. After clicking the submit button to send the message, the system tells me that the message was sent. However, the messages remain in my Outbox and do not show up in the Sent Messages folder. Is this normal behavior? All the PM's I've sent in the past, prior to now, do show in Sent Messages.

Yes, that's the expected behavior for an unread message. I find phpBB to be rather odd in this respect -- it's not like any other mail system I know.
When you send a private message it goes into your Outbox. When the recipient actually opens the message, it moves into your Sent Messages folder. It's certainly helpful to know that a message has been read, but the phpBB way of indicating that is obscure to say the least.
