While that is clear if you read through the article, they should really correct that in the article highlights for those of us too lazy to read through the full article.

Why are they creating an entire app for the Ensign, why not publish it the new iOS magazine rack app (I forget what its called).

A quick research suggests a few possible reasons:
  • The app has links to audio and video. It's not just a eReader.
  • There seems to be no free subscriptions in Newsstand
  • Apple takes a cut of the subscriptions.
But that's just speculation on my part.

The app shows up in the android market now - unfortunately it seems the devices it is able to install on is limited. My rooted nook color (cyanogen) can usually install just about anything.

Market says it needs 2.2+ where Cyanogenmod 7.1 shows 2.3.7 on my Nook Color.

I don't know why they would limit it by device, but apparently they have.

I have an Android tablet but this app just doesn't work. It states that I am not connected to the internet even though I am. Anybody get this working on Android?

Since it's for tablet's, perhaps it's a screen size issue.

I was looking at the 7" as being a better compromise for portability. Plus it's a lot more affordable then the 10" ones. I hope they decide to support the 7".
