Meetinghouse Webcast software installer and .NET 4

To prepare for a fast approaching Stake Conference, I've installed the Meetinghouse Webcast software on several different test platforms, including a couple of Windows XP and Windows 7 PC's. In every case, the initial installation failed with the following error message...

This error message is rather perplexing to me, because in each case, the .NET 4.0 Framework had already been installed, fully patched, and was running at revision 4.0.30319, which is currently the latest. Because the install would not proceed past that point, I was forced to follow the above link and install a fresh copy, then go through and apply some more patches & updates. After the above drill, the Webcast installer reran smoothly. Is this a bug in the install routine, or am I really adding something to these PC's that wasn't there before?
EDIT: OK, with a little further digging I get it now. Using the standard "Windows Update", you only get the option to install "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile" and all her updates & patches. Using the above link, you also add "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended".
I was going to delete this post, but I'll leave it up for others to see why this step is important. I don't know if it's possible, but it sure would be nice for the installer package to provide a more graceful error with a real link to follow, like the program does when it discovers it needs the Microsoft Expression Encoder, rather than the current Windows Program Error popup.
(BTW, you can't click on, or even copy 'n paste, the above link directly from the popup error message box, but you CAN find it by digging into the Application Event Log. Might save you some typing.LDS Meetinghouse Webcast Setup
