That makes sense. I played around with the settings of the sound card on the Webcast Communicator and found that the sound card is really low quality, so I suspect that has a lot to do with the popping. I have done a little research on high pass audio filters and I wonder if the Church can make some type of passive in-line filter available that would eliminate that 8kHz range that seems to be at the root of the problem. Anyone know of a good supplier?

The version of the "Meeting House WebCast Communicator" we received came with a RealTek audio 'system'. There's some comments under (http://tech.lds.org/wiki/Answers_about_ ... se_Webcast)
I hear a soft “clicking or popping” noise in the background of the webcast. How can I fix that?

The high noise floor can be fixed by muting the mic input.
This gets rid of a lot of the hiss.

The ftp site has a readme file that states:
When experiencing a slight "popping" or "clicking" noise embedded in your audio, a roll-back to a prior Realtek Audio Driver may be required.

Following their tedious directions (in the readme file) fixed the problem for me.

You may need a monitor, usb keyboard, usb mouse, usb drive, Internect Connection and a way to unzip the file to do this.
